Notice on the Current Visa Policy and Application Procedures

In order to facilitate visa-application, the Chinese Embassy in Iraq announces following visa policy and application procedures:

(3)Printing your application form and confirmation page
(4)Submiting related documents to the Consular Office at the appointed time and retain ten fingerprints.(The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection and entrust others to submit visa application:
-Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70
-Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for Diplomatic, Service and Courtesy visas
-Whose fingerprints have been collected over the past five years at the same embassy with the same passport
-Their fingers are uncollectible
*To further facilitate visa applicants, from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, all short-term visa applicants (with a stay of 180 days or less) who apply for single or double-entry visas will be exempted from fingerprint collection.
3、Document Requirement
(1) Printed Confirmation Page and applicant form with a 48*33mm photo;
(2) Original passport and copy of the information page with a 48*33mm photo (passport with no less than six months validity and blank visa page);
(3) Copy of latest visas to China, or latest resident permit in China (if any);
(4) Copy of ID card (for Iraqi citizens), or valid long-term visa to Iraq or resident permit in Iraq (for citizens of other countries who are in Iraq);
(5) Related Supporting Documents (If any, such as your airport ticket, hotel reservation, etc.)

S2:Issued to those who intend to visit their family members who are foreigners working or studying in China, or to those who intend to go to China for other private matters. | 1. An invitation letter from the inviting individual (a foreigner who stays or resides in China for work or studies) . 2. A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit. 3. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship issued by authorities or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of (immediate) family members between applicants and inviting individual For private affairs, documentation identifying the nature of the private affairs should be provided as required by the consular officer. 4. Applicant for medical treatment purpose should provide the following documents: a. Invitation letter or certificate of hospitalization; b. Bank statement (closing balance no less than 10,000USD) c. Accompany family member should provide the original and photocopy of family relationship certificate, and patient accompany admission issued by the Chinese hospital. Note: "Immediate family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18, parents-in-law. "Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.

"Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law. Q2:Issued to those who intend to visit their relatives who are Chinese citizens residing in China or foreigners with permanent residence in China. Attention: Foreigners who don’t need to apply for visas
-Foreigners who are eligible for various visa exemption agreements;
-Foreigners who hold valid Chinese permanent residence permit;
-Foreigners holding various valid residence permits;
-Foreigners holding valid APEC Business Travel Cards .
4、Payment Procedure
Visa applications typically require 4 working days for processing. Urgent applications are not accepted. Applicants must submit their documents to the Consular Office and receive a pick-up form. After 4 working days, if the visa is approved, the applicant can exchange the pick-up form for a payment form. The applicant then pays the required fee at the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI), ALMASBAH Branch, and obtains a bank voucher. Finally, the applicant returns the payment form and bank voucher to the Consular Office to collect the issued visa.
