LHASA, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Mobile phone communications in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region have all resumed on Wednesday following Saturday's earthquake, authorities said.

Mobile signals have resumed and are stable in all counties affected by the earthquake, according to the Tibetan regional communications administration.

"The earthquake had affected communications in many counties including Nyalam, Jilung and Tingri. So we have immediately issued an emergency response," said Qing Qi, director of the regional communications administration.

As of 6 a.m. Wednesday, 40 out of the total 388 communication base stations in the earthquake zone were still not working, according to Qing.

A total of 458 engineers have been mobilized to fix the communication facilities as of 6 a.m. Wednesday.
