Chinese Ambassador Ni Jian Meets Vice Governor of Baghdad Governorate

On July 9, 2013, The Chinese Ambassador Ni Jian met with Vice Governor of Baghdad Governorate Mr. Jassim in the Chinese Embassy, accompanied by the Political Counselor Mr. Jiang Zuyang. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between China and Iraq in all areas.
Jassim noted that Iraq has achieved much during the reconstruction after the war. The recent removal of UN Charter VII sanction will bring more opportunities in the future. Jassim spoke highly of Iraq-China relations and wishes more Chinese companies to invest in Iraq. Baghdad Governorate is willing to carry out exchanges and cooperation with Chinese provinces and cities, especially Beijing.
Ni welcomed Jassim's visit and the decision of the UN Security Council of removing sanction. China and Iraq enjoyed long-term friendship and have carried out cooperation in energy, electricity, communication and municipal engineering. China highly values China-Iraq relations and is ready to further expand mutually-beneficial cooperation in all areas.
