The Sixth Ministerial Conference of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum Closes

On June 5, 2014, the sixth ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum came to a close at Fanghua Garden, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the opening ceremony, charting the key course and preferential fields regarding China-Arab cooperation in the following decade and putting forward new measures and goals for bilateral cooperation. President Xi Jinping's speech is a guide to future advancement of China-Arab relations. China is ready to work with the Arab countries in translating consensuses achieved during the conference into concrete results, so as to benefit peoples of both sides.

Representatives from the Arab nations spoke highly of the friendship between the Arab countries and China as well as achievements made by Arab-China Cooperation Forum in the past ten years. They said that Arab-China cooperation serves as a role model for South-South cooperation and that the grand and clear goals put forward by the ministerial conference for Arab-China cooperation will surely and vigorously push forward all-round cooperation between Arab countries and China. President Xi Jinping's proposal as to an Arab-China shared mission of building "One Belt One Road" is a great vision full of enterprise and initiative, which will lead to qualitative leaps for Arab-China relations and is conducive to sustainable development and the cause of peace of both sides and the world.

With the China-Arab friendship as the tone, the joint establishment of "One Belt One Road" as the mainstream, and the realization of common prosperity as the goal, this conference has reached broad consensus in further deepening political mutual trust, strengthening policy coordination, carrying out all-round cooperation and other topics.

The conference adopted three important documents, namely the "Beijing Declaration", the "2014-2016 Action Plan" and the "2014-2024 Development Plan".

After the conference, Wang Yi and the representatives of Arab counties met with reporters together.

The next conference will be held in Qatar in 2016.
