On July 16, 2026, Ambassador Xiang Bo of China to Iraq chaired a meeting with Chinese enterprises operating in Iraq. More than 30 representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises attended the meeting.

Ambassador Xiang briefed the participants on the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the meeting celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and introduced the overall progress of China-Iraq relations. He commended Chinese enterprises for their positive contribution to deepening practical cooperation between the two countries and promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

Ambassador Xiang called on the enterprises to further strengthen their security awareness and risk prevention capabilities, conduct business in compliance with laws and regulations, improve internal management and institutional development, and effectively safeguard the lawful rights and interests of their employees. He also urged them to jointly uphold the positive image of Chinese enterprises and better contribute to the development of the China-Iraq strategic partnership and the advancement of Chinese modernization.
