On July 29, 2026, Ambassador Xiang Bo of China to Iraq met with Secretary of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party Raid Fahmi. Ambassador Xiang highlighted Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building and expressed appreciation for the Iraqi Communist Party's contribution to the development of China-Iraq relations. He said that China supports closer inter-party exchanges between the two parties to help achieve greater progress in the China-Iraq strategic partnership.

Mr. Raid Fahmi congratulated the Communist Party of China on the 105th anniversary of its founding. He said that the Iraqi Communist Party has been actively studying and drawing on the successful experience of the Communist Party of China and expressed the hope that the two parties would further strengthen their exchanges and cooperation.
