On September 6, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Xiang Bo met with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Shorsh Khalid Saeed.

Ambassador Xiang Bo said that President Xi Jinping has put forward four proposals for promoting common security in the Middle East, once again contributing China's approach to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region as a whole. China will continue to uphold the spirit of President Xi Jinping's series of policy proposals and work together with Iraq and other countries in the region to make sustained efforts toward achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East at an early date.

Deputy Minister Shorsh said that Iraq attaches great importance to the four proposals put forward by President Xi Jinping and appreciates China's contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region. He expressed Iraq's willingness to strengthen communication and coordination with China on regional developments.
