On September 10, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Xiang Bo visited Al-Ghazi Tribe in Dhi Qar Province, met with Tribal Sheikh Ghazwan Ali Mohammed Munshid, and had friendly exchanges with local residents.

Ambassador Xiang said that China and Iraq enjoy a traditional friendship, and that the two peoples came to know and interact with each other through the ancient Silk Road. Today, China-Iraq relations continue to thrive, with fruitful results achieved in practical cooperation. China stands ready to further deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and bring tangible benefits to the two peoples.

Sheikh Ghazwan Ali Mohammed Munshid said that cooperation with China has strongly contributed to Iraq's economic development and the improvement of people's livelihoods.
