On October 12, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Xiang Bo met with Iraqi Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad Amin Atrushi.

Ambassador Xiang briefed on the four global initiatives and major policy proposals on the situation in the Middle East proposed by President Xi Jinping. He said that China stands ready to further promote exchanges between the political parties and legislative bodies of the two countries and continuously deepen the China-Iraq strategic partnership.

Atrushi said that Iraq highly appreciates the important initiatives and policy proposals put forward by China. He expressed Iraq's willingness to learn from China's development experience and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China across various fields.
