To facilitate cross-border travel and improve the quality of consular services, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Iraq has released the following official Questions & Answers regarding visa applications:

 

Q: How can I apply for a visa?

A: About visa application process, please refer to the flowchart below.

 

Q:How long does it take to issue a visa?

A:Visa processing takes approximately 4 working days from the date of receipt. Urgent visa applications are generally not accepted.

According to the Chinese laws and related regulations, the Chinese Embassy and Consulate reserves the right to process applications on a case-by-case basis, and may delay or deny a visa without providing a reason.

 

Q:Could I leave some of the questions in the application forms in blank?

A: The information provided on the application forms is a crucial part of your visa application. It is recommended that all sections, especially “inviting person or organization in China” and details of relatives residing in China, be completed accurately and in accordance with your actual situation. Incomplete, incorrect, or false information may result in the denial of your visa application.

 

Q:Why does the visa type, number of entries, validity period, and duration of stay I applied for differ from the approved visa?

A: According to Chinese law and relative regulations, shall the applicants submit application for the correct type of visa corresponding with his purpose of visit. Chinese embassy and consulate has the right to make final determination on visa’s valid period, duration of stay and number of entries in a case-by-case manner.If the visa cannot be used due to these reasons or force majeure, the applicant shall bear full responsibility, and the consulate will not refund any fees already paid.

 

Q: Why was my visa refused?

A: The Chinese embassy and consulate process visa applications in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. If your application is rejected, please verify the completeness, validity, and accuracy of your documents and information provided.

 

Q:When do I know the result of my visa application?

A: The pick-up form will indicate the scheduled time to visit the Consulate Service Office, where you can receive the final result of your application.

 

Q: How to apply for a multiply-entry visa, 1 year validity?

A: Please provide photocopy of your past visas to China and other supporting documents will add your eligibility.

 

Q: Why is the consultation line busy and no staff pick up the phone?

A:  If the line is busy, please send inquiries via email and all inquiries would be answered in a timely manner.

Q: I urgently need to go to China for marriage. How can I apply for the appropriate visa?

A: You should apply for an S2 visa and provide the required documents, such as proof of being unmarried and a relationship certificate issued by relevant domestic authorities.
